Chart replay drill

Real historical candles with the dates hidden, so you cannot trade what you already know happened. Up to four charts at once — pick any of 27 timeframes from 1 minute to 1 month (1m, 3m, 5m, 15m, 30m, every hour from 1H to 12H, 1D–6D, 1W–3W, 1M) for each one, on 39 coins or any coin listed on Binance, all frozen at the same moment, with years of history behind them — carrying the same indicators and drawing tools as every chart on the site: MAs, volume, RSI with its two averages, trendlines, Fibonacci, zones, the % ruler and the long/short position tool. Switch frames mid-drill and the moment stays put. Step forward one bar at a time, decide — long, short, or wait — and every trade needs a stop, sizes itself to 1% risk, and fills by itself. Five trades make a drill; each result points at the lesson it came from.

Risk stays inside the 1–2% rule (Lesson 40); the size is computed from it. Once placed, the target can be dragged freely; the stop can only be dragged toward the price (breakeven or a locked gain), never further away — widening a stop is the habit being trained out. R is always measured against the original risk. Both stop and target touched in one bar: the stop counts.

Flat-vector illustration of a chart replay drill: a monitor with a candlestick chart whose future candles are hidden behind a frosted panel, the date axis covered by tape with question marks, a NEXT BAR play button below and a score card showing +2R.
The drill in one picture: dates hidden, future candles covered, one bar at a time, every trade scored in R.

Why the dates are hidden

Every other replay tool shows you the calendar, and the calendar is a cheat sheet: you remember what Bitcoin did in that month, so you “predict” it. Hiding the axis turns the drill back into what a live chart actually is — a structure with no future attached. The window is cut from months of real history — about eight months of hourly bars for 1H to 1D drills, a month of 15-minute bars for 15m and 30m drills — and every chart (1m up to 1M, any coin listed on Binance) is cut at the same moment. The dates are revealed only when the drill is over.

The daily drill is the same window for everyone on a given day and market, so two learners can compare decisions on identical tape. New random window gives you a fresh slice.

What the score means

Every trade risks the same $100, so results are in R — multiples of that risk. A drill at +3R means you made three units of risk across five decisions; the dollar figure is only that number times whatever you would really risk. The summary also counts two habits the arithmetic hides: stops hit within two bars (stops inside the noise) and winners closed before three-quarters of the target (the plan was right, the hands were not). Those two counts are the most useful output on this page.

What this rehearses — and what it can’t

It rehearses: reading the RSI wave, the MA bundle and price structure — in that order, each on its own — without hindsight, placing the stop where the idea would be wrong rather than where the loss feels small, sitting through pullbacks toward a planned target, and letting a stale setup go. It can’t rehearse: money that hurts, fills that slip, and the boredom of waiting hours between bars. Pair it with the live arena for real time and the journal for the record.

Candles are real spot data (Binance, or Kraken where Binance is unreachable). Fills are at exact levels with no slippage or fees. Educational simulation — past price paths tell you how a rule behaves, not what the market will do next.
Risk reminder: replay results overstate real results. Education only; most retail traders lose money.
